Our food family consists of a sustainably-minded farmers and small-business owners in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

IPM Fruit & Organic Vegetables: Hepworth Farms, Milton NY
Hepworth Farms is a small, diversified, ecologically managed farm located on the banks of the Hudson River in New York State. Hepworth Farms is run by a female farm team: Amy Hepworth, her twin sister Gail and their partner Gerry Greco.  The farm has been in the family for seven generations. Over 30 years of work on the farm have been dedicated to organic and ecologically sustainable farming, specializing in unique heirloom varieties, some developed by Grandpa Hepworth! The fruit is grown with the Whole Farm Alive Systems Approach, using Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The fruit is of exceptional quality and taste! The produce is picked fresh either the day before or the same day as delivery.
Some examples of fruit harvested from June to November: strawberries, cherries, and raspberries in July; peaches, plums, nectarines, grapes and melons, Apples and pears are harvest from August through November. Seasonal vegetables include a variety of salad greens, cooking greens, soft vegetables, herbs, and root vegetables. Our farmers are focused on compensating their employees fairly for their hard work. All farm employees, from hired local “townies” to the international H-1B and H-2B 2 visa workers are paid above minimum wage. In additional, their visa workers medical care, room and board are all covered. In addition, the farmers also hope to generate a livable income for themselves.

Local Mushrooms: The Foraged Feast
The Foraged Feast offers a unique gourmet mushroom share for the 2021 CSA season. Inspired by the many flavors, textures, and colors of wild ingredients, expert forager Dan Lipow created a mushroom box to share these flavors with CSA members. Each delivery contains 1/2 lb. of curated fresh, gourmet mushrooms to entice your taste buds. Cultivated and foraged locally, examples include: King Oyster, Lions Mane, Pom-Pom, Maitake, Abalone Oyster, Pioppini, Baby Shiitake, Brown Chamshell. In addition, add-on to your scheduled pickup by placing a la carte orders for more mushrooms – and all other seasonally available items by choosing Montclair Food Coop CSA as your pickup location at checkout on Local Line. Local Pastured Eggs: Apple Ridge Farms
Pastured eggs from chickens fed local vegetables & non-GMO grain. At Apple Ridge, we have 300 laying hens during the green season. Apple Ridge Farms hens have freedom to go wherever they want on the farm. Fenced out of vegetable-growing areas, but the rest of the farm is theirs to explore. They spend most days out in the pasture eating grass, digging along fence lines for bugs, or lounging in the shade. Truly Free-Range and pastured raised!

Artisan Breads baked in the a hearth and wood-fired brick oven made with organic, locally-grown grain in, Saylorsburg, PA.

An Artisan Bread bread subscription for $84 for the 12 week pick up has 3 options:

*Bakers Choice Share – Rotation of different bread every pick up

Fermented drinks: Untamed Ferments
Untamed Ferments crafts naturally fermented beverages made with local ingredients in Saylorsburg, PA. Erik Sink production manager of Untamed Ferments will be on site at our csa pick-up to fill and refill growlers of locally produced kombucha, kvass and switchel.

Handmade products: by Youth Entrepreneurs with Montclair Community Farms
Montclair Community Farms is a local non-profit whose mission is to serve as a local hands-on resource that engages and educates the community through urban farming, affordable food access and healthy living.  At the heart of Montclair Community Farms is its Coalition, partners, and community volunteers.  In addition to supporting the MCF’s Mobile Farm Stand, which brings organic, locally grown and affordable produce to senior members of our community, this year we will support a new Youth Entrepreneurship program called “Seed to Sale”. Youth will be creating and marketing an assortment of “value added products” using veggies grown on the farm, and organic locally sourced grain! MCFC is proud to support these young entrepreneurs!

Pastured Meats: Wrong Direction Farms
Wrong Direction Farm provides Home Delivery of excellent local Grass Fed, Grass Finished Beef and Lamb, and Pasture Raised Chicken, Turkey, and Pork, raised by Dave Perozzi and his family on their family’s farm in Upstate New York. Overnight delivery is shipped in recyclable containers using paper-based insulation.
