Heirloom Tomato Frozen Yogurt

Use this easy recipe to make frozen yogurt from any ripe fruit!
I’ve made blackberry, peach and tomato… each delicious!

Heirloom tomato yogurt made with local, organic ingredients: Hepworth farms pink brandywine heirloom tomato and Seven stars whole milk yogurt.

Heirloom Tomato Frozen Yogurt

makes about 1 pint

  • 1 to 1½ large ripe heirloom tomato, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cups plain whole milk yogurt
  • a few fresh basil leaves

Put the tomatoes, sugar, and basil in a food processor or blender and purée. Add yogurt to mix.Chill in the refrigerator for an hour or so. (optional) Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the directions. Serve immediately or transfer to a container to freeze.

Try with honey or agave for a alternative sweetener.
Double ingredients for a quart.
