One of America’s favorite chef’s, Julia Child, brought classic French cuisine to the States and inspired home cooks to expand their skills. Today, August 15th would have been Julia’s 100th birthday, and we’re celebrating her life with some of her classic recipes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking that can be easily made with local ingrediants from the farm.
Her onion and rice Soubise is a delicious dish finished in the oven. I wonder if any members would dare finish it on the grill??
And her Ratatouille recipe, although known for her tedious details, is also a delicious summer favorite. (Simplify the ratatouille by cooking all ingredients together and leave peels on. I wont tell Julia.)
